Whale Watching

Whale and dolphin watching are some of the most exciting excursions you can do during your visit to Sri Lanka. During whale watching season, you will be able to witness pods of whales while on a boat ride to the middle of the ocean. Get ready to spot sperm and blue whales, false orcas, spinner and bottle-nose dolphins during this excursion. Whilst this tour may take approx. 3 – 5 hours, there’s a 98% chance of spotting of Blue Whales swimming freely in the ocean.

Whale watching season runs from November – April in the South Coast and May – September in the East Coast.

Climb Adam’s Peak

See the footprint at Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada), also known as the ‘butterfly mountain’, due to the old tale of how butterflies flock to the mountain, keep their head on the footprint and sacrifice their lives. At an elevation of 2,243 metres (7,359 ft), it is a picturesque mountain. The legends of the mountain are many: the Buddhist’s believe it is the footprint of Lord Buddha, the Hindu’s believe that it is of Lord Shiva and the Muslims and Christians believe that the footprint belongs to Adam.

A physically exhilarating experience, the climb to the summit of Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Padaya takes approximately 3.5 hours. The ascent is quite harsh, with steep and sometimes uneven steps. There are stalls that sells hot drinks and snacks and at night, the path is illuminated by oil lamps.

We will organize an experienced guide to walk up with you.
